NEW YORK: Global IT services and consultancy giant Accenture, has acquired Brazil-based cybersecurity company Morphus as a part of the former’s bid to expand its presence in Latin America. The purchase will help Accenture enhance its cybersecurity services and become one of the leading providers of cybersecurity solutions in Brazil. Morphus offers a comprehensive range of services, including cyber defense, risk management, threat intelligence, and compliance services. The company’s portfolio includes enterprise risk management, governance, and managed security services. The Fortaleza-headquartered company is staffed by 230 cybersecurity professionals and has offices in several Brazilian cities, including Recife, São Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro, as well as in Santiago, Chile.
The acquisition will enable Accenture to tap into the rapidly growing Brazilian cybersecurity market, which is expected to grow significantly in the coming years. According to a recent report, the cybersecurity market in Brazil is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16.5% between 2020 and 2025. By acquiring Morphus, Accenture is positioning itself as a key player in the Brazilian cybersecurity industry and strengthening its presence in the Latin American market. The financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
Accenture’s recent acquisition of Morphus will enable the former to expand its portfolio and establish a Cyber Industry practice in Latin America. The cybersecurity team at Morphus will play a crucial role in expanding Accenture’s security services in Brazil, where the company’s security footprint will be almost doubled. The acquisition has also given Accenture access to Morphus Labs, a research facility in Fortaleza dedicated to cybersecurity studies and vulnerability analysis. With this addition, Accenture now has a Cyber Fusion Center in Fortaleza, which strengthens its global network of cybersecurity research and development capabilities.
