New York-based trust platform for digital commerce Forter has announced its acquisition of Immue, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based bot detection company. This acquisition will help Forter enhance its fraud management capabilities with the addition of Immue’s domain-specific bot expertise.
Immue’s founders, Shira Itzhaki, Amit Yossi Siva Levi, and Omri Meliches, bring extensive experience in technology, leadership, cyber technologies, and solution development. They will join Forter’s cyber research group to detect device and connection manipulations and build bot mitigation layers.
Bots are being increasingly used by bad actors in fraudulent operations to automate purchases and monitor merchant sites. Forter’s data shows that merchants in the ticketing and footwear/apparel industries face five to six times more bot attacks than their counterparts. Successful bot attacks can lead to account takeovers, service disruptions, reputational damage, loss of consumer trust, and more. Immue’s innovative technology enables businesses to filter out the most sophisticated attacks and authorize only certain bot-enabled transactions. The acquisition of Immue will expand Forter’s fraud prevention solution stack by improving its bot detection capabilities, strengthening its core fraud management offering, and advancing its bot detection layer.
